A Weekend of Concessions

So, this weekend was a bit of a busy one.  This weekend I ran the concessions for the Lakeville Soccer Club Tournament.  On Friday I went straight from 8 hours of work to concessions at McGuire Middle School and stayed there until 8 PM.  The next morning, the games started at 7:30 in the morning; therefore, coaches and players showed up at 6:30 to start practicing and I had to be there at 5:30 to set up the tent and tables and start brewing a very very large pot of coffee for the unlucky spectators that were allotted such an early time spot for their game....they were very appreciative.  Already, at 8 in the morning, lightning was seen in the distance and all of the games were postponed for half an hour.  After half an hour of waiting, it was still pouring but the games continued.  Considering that it was raining, concessions were very slow and one again, at noon lightning was seen and there was another hour of waiting.  After a 14 hour day at concessions I was happy to be home in my bed and fell asleep by 9:30--the time when most college kids begin their nights.  The next day was a repeat of the last, however, by noon the clouds parted and the sun decided to make an appearance...FINALLY!  With the sun out, the concessions got much busier--especially the ice cream sales! Once again, it was another 12 or so hours at the concessions.  Needless to say, I slept long and hard that night.
